The former president John F. Kennedy said "Never before has man had such a great capacity to control his own environment, to end hunger, poverty and disease, to banish illiteracy and human misery. We have the power to make the best generation of mankind in the history of the world." I believe that change begins with us so if we want to see a difference we have to make one. In my town of Asbury Park, I volunteered at the 1st Lutheran Atonement Church and helped decorate for there annual Holiday Harvest. The Holiday Harvest has been celebrated for over 50 years and was an opportunity for me to lend a helping hand in my community.

I also took part in my schools (Academy Charter High School) Walk for Clark scholarship event. We sent out invitations to everyone in the Belmar, New Jersey area to join a walk around the belmar area in order to raise money. The money that we raised went to a senior who the principle chose. The scholarship was created for my former history teacher, Mr. Joe Clark. He died due to heart complications and my senior class thought it would be a great idea to pay him respect.
