The famous author, musician, and screenwriter James Mcbride came to Rider University to hear the readings of our papers that we wrote while in Expository Writing. We wrote papers on his novel Miracle at St. Anna comparing the novel version to the film version. Miracle at St. Anna was set during World War II with four buffalo soldiers on a mission to win the war and equal rights in America. Sam Train, Hector Negron, Bishop Cummings, and Lieutenant Stamps travel into the Tuscany Serchio Valley in Italy with a young boy named Angelo and discover friendship, adversity, an religion. My paper was on Miracle at St. Anna was about the Massacre at St. Anna di Stazzema where 500 villagers were massacred by German soldiers. Angelo was a survivor of the massacre and it was a key point in the book. To view my Miracle at St. Anna paper click here.
