I want to take the time to thank you for visiting my blog and getting a chance to learn a little about me. I hope this has given a look inside of Eryk Harrison. I have past experience in the business world from my previous job at Under Armour located at 537 Monmouth Road in Jackson, New Jersey. I did multiple things from assisting customers, working with computers, using Microsoft Excel, and making sure other employees finished their daily objectives before leaving. I am looking for a future job in finance for a business to learn and master the financial branch of the business world.

A Little About Myself..

Hello ladies and gentlemen, my name is Eryk Javon Harrison. One thing you should know is that I live life and I live it to the fullest. I love my family without a doubt. They are my backbone and my mother is my heart. My goals while I am in college is to obtain my masters in Business Finance and have a minor in Business in Sports. I hope to one day either own my own business, work for a corporate giant, or be a sports agent. I am inspired to be a business man not only because of the money but because of my mentor, my uncle. My uncle shows deep passion for his business and I want to develop that love for my own business. I want a position and opportunity to learn in a positive environment and apply my leadership, innovative instruction, knowledge, and experience.I believe that the sky is the limit and I am capable of accomplishing anything. I was born and raised in Asbury Park, New Jersey. I am a born Jersey boy and I love it. My town and family has had its ups and downs but I believe whatever doesn't kill you makes you stronger. In high school, I was apart of the fix it club, basketball club, and environmental club. I also, took computer classes to help develop my Microsoft Word, Powerpoint, and Excel skills. I adore technology and the fact that it is always improving, sort of like myself. I hope you enjoy my blog.

Resume

Here is a detailed look at my past work experience in my resume

Race, Class, and Gender Abstracts

I also wrote two short abstracts on the articles titled "The Arab Woman and I" and "Billionaires are Us" in the book called Race, Class, and Gender in the United States. The first is about an Arab Woman who lives in America and wants to depart herself from the stereotypes of Arab women. To view click here.
The second discusses the increase in the wealth gap in America. The number of billionaires have sky rocketed but the number of Americans in lower class has plummeted tremendously. To view this interesting abstract click here.

James Mcbride

The famous author, musician, and screenwriter James Mcbride came to Rider University to hear the readings of our papers that we wrote while in Expository Writing. We wrote papers on his novel Miracle at St. Anna comparing the novel version to the film version. Miracle at St. Anna was set during World War II with four buffalo soldiers on a mission to win the war and equal rights in America. Sam Train, Hector Negron, Bishop Cummings, and Lieutenant Stamps travel into the Tuscany Serchio Valley in Italy with a young boy named Angelo and discover friendship, adversity, an religion. My paper was on Miracle at St. Anna was about the Massacre at St. Anna di Stazzema where 500 villagers were massacred by German soldiers. Angelo was a survivor of the massacre and it was a key point in the book. To view my Miracle at St. Anna paper click here.

Entertainment Speech

This is a video of my entertainment speech in my Speech Communications class. This had to be one of my more amusing speeching. If being a business man doesn't work out, I guess I could always do stand up.

Volunteer Work

The former president John F. Kennedy said "Never before has man had such a great capacity to control his own environment, to end hunger, poverty and disease, to banish illiteracy and human misery. We have the power to make the best generation of mankind in the history of the world." I believe that change begins with us so if we want to see a difference we have to make one. In my town of Asbury Park, I volunteered at the 1st Lutheran Atonement Church and helped decorate for there annual Holiday Harvest. The Holiday Harvest has been celebrated for over 50 years and was an opportunity for me to lend a helping hand in my community.

I also took part in my schools (Academy Charter High School) Walk for Clark scholarship event. We sent out invitations to everyone in the Belmar, New Jersey area to join a walk around the belmar area in order to raise money. The money that we raised went to a senior who the principle chose. The scholarship was created for my former history teacher, Mr. Joe Clark. He died due to heart complications and my senior class thought it would be a great idea to pay him respect.
